New Delhi, October 19
Raising questions about the role of top UPA ministers in the “loot” of Commonwealth Games funds, BJP president Nitin Gadkari demanded here today a joint parliamentary probe into the whole thing.

He suggested that Union Cabinet secretary should supervise the current investigations underway by CBI, CVC, C&AG and other such agencies under orders from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

He sought a probe into the role of the Urban Development ministry, Sports ministry, Home, Finance, Tourism, Civil Aviation, I&B Delhi government as also the DDA, PWD and other bodies under it for sanctioning and allowing contracts at arbitrary rates for the works undertaken.

But he circumvented a reply on the role of the MCD, under BJP involved in most of road, pavement, park and such other development work in Delhi.

Gadkari also hedged when asked about the role of BJP members of the OC like Vijay Kumar Malhotra, claiming that they had very little powers, but added, “the BJP will extend full cooperation to all the investigating agencies involved in this task,”

He said, “It is high time to expose the nexus between the partners in the Games loot and those providing political patronage by condoning this mess.”
