Omar tries to pitch for Eid package with PM
Special Powers Act may go from Jammu, Samba, Srinagar, Ganderbal
New Delhi, September 8
The government looks set to offer Eid package to strife-torn Kashmir with the likelihood of amendment to the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) increasing ahead of the crucial Cabinet Committee on Security meeting on the Kashmir violence and prevailing situation. The CCS is expected to meet shortly to hold discussions on the prevailing situation in Kashmir and the possible solutions to the problem. 

ATS arrests Pune bakery blast ‘plotter’
Mumbai, September 8
The Anti-Terror Squad of the Mumbai police today claimed to have arrested an alleged plotter of Pune’s German Bakery blast along with his aide. Rakesh Maria, who heads the ATS, said here today that the two were arrested from Pune and Nashik. Maria said some amount of RDX and other incriminating evidence was recovered from the two accused — Bilal Ahmed Ansari and Himayat Baig.
