Floods wreak havoc in various parts of Uttar Pradesh
Normal life in various parts of Uttar Pradesh has been badly hit as many areas experienced flood or flood like situation on Friday due to incessant rainfall. The flood situation in Bahraich district worsened because of continuous rainfall. Swollen rivers breached their banks, forcing the villagers to abandon their homes and hearth to safer locations.

80 children fall sick after consumption of Mid-day meal
Around 80 students fell sick after consumption of reported unhygienic midday meal at a government school in Pune on Friday. Students in 8-10 years age group of Dr Zakir Hussain school experienced stomach pain and developed symptoms of vomiting. At once, the children were rushed to the Sahyadri Hospital where the condition of 57 is said to be serious.

PM asks State Chiefs to strengthen agricultural sector
While addressing a meeting of the National Development Council (NDC) in New Delhi on Saturday Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh has asked state chiefs to strengthen the agricultural sector to improve the living standards of rural people. Singh underlined the need for implementing the development schemes in the tribal areas.
