Rs 2 cr relief for
displaced persons: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla accompanied by Minister for Medical and Technical Education Rajinder Singh Chib distributed 146 cheques worth Rs two crore as land deficiency compensation to the displaced persons of 1947, at Maralian in RS Pura here on Thursday. Bhalla said the state government had enhanced the amount of compensation.2 held with cannabis: The police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two persons and seized 2 kg of cannabis from their possession in Bantalab here. Poppy straw recovered: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday recovered 129 kg of poppy straw from the house of Shabir Ahmed Parray of Charsoo Kutipora in Pulwama.The police has registered a case in this regard.
