There is a definite Pakistani link to the terror plot unearthed recently in the United States, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said today. American citizen Headley, 49, and Pakistani-born Canadian citizen Tahawwur Hussein Rana, 48, were arrested by the FBI in the US recently for plotting attacks in India at the behest of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).

India, EU ink atomic energy pact
New Delhi, November 6
India and the European Union (EU) today signed a major accord for cooperation in the civil atomic energy field and pledged to conclude an ambitious free trade agreement (FTA) between them within a year.

ED makes first arrest in Koda case
New Delhi, November 6
In a major breakthrough in the Rs 2,500-crore hawala scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today arrested Bikas Sinha, brother of Binod Sinha, who according to IT officials is the main kingpin in the scandal and also close associate of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda.

34 killed as bus falls into gorge
Dharamsala, November 6
An overcrowded private bus fell into a 200-ft-deep gorge which claimed lives of 34 passengers and left 32 critically injured this morning. The dead include six children, 13 females and 15 males. According to sources, though the seating capacity of the bus was 32, there were over 66 persons on board, including the roof of the bus.

BJP inching towards resolving K’taka crisis

The BJP seems to be “inching” towards some resolution of its Karnataka crisis with the party high command signalling here today that it was willing to accommodate the dissident views short of removal of the Chief Minister.
