Haryana verdict by noon

Chandigarh, October 21
By tomorrow afternoon it will become clear who will govern Haryana for the next five years as the votes polled on October 13 for the twelfth Vidhan Sabha of the state will be counted at 90 centres. The counting will commence at 8 am, with postal ballots to be taken up first.

All arrangements for the counting have been completed by the election authorities who have deployed massive security around the counting centres. Though the state witnessed the heaviest voter turnout, the counting will be completed within a few hours, thanks to the electronic voting machines, unlike the past when the counting used to take days to be completed.

Among those whose political future will be known tomorrow are Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala, HJC chief Kuldeep Bishnoi and his mother Jasma Devi; Haryana BJP chief Krishan Pal Gurjar, senior Congress leader Birender Singh, former Finance Minister Sampat Singh, who quit the INLD to join the Congress, and Tourism Minister Kiran Choudhry. All parties have major stakes in the results. While some are contesting to form the government, the others are out for their survival.
