Oil strike ends
New Delhi, January 9
Buckling under government pressure, the oil sector officers today called off their two-day strike that had nearly halted fuel supplies in the country, creating widespread chaos and uproar. After the strike was withdrawn, Oil Minister Murli Deora said he felt relieved.

Justice Nirmal Yadav The controversial Punjab and Haryana High Court Judge, Justice Nirmal Yadav, who last week was given a show cause notice by the Chief Justice of India, is apparently in deep trouble in the cash for judge scam. It seems that the Punjab and Haryana High Court judge did receive Rs 15 lakh of the tainted money, after all.

Chairman Raju, brother surrender before police
Hyderabad, January 9
In a dramatic turn of events, Satyam Computer former chairman B Ramalinga Raju and his brother and former director Rama Raju surrendered before the police here tonight. Two days after making a disgraceful exit and admitting to a massive fraud, Raju drove to the office of state DGP SSP Yadav and gave himself up.

Veteran leader starts Rajasthan tour

Defying age and BJP leadership, former Vice-President Bhairaon Singh Shekhawat today started his statewide tour from Jodhpur carrying on with his determination to make a mark in the state and national politics. A day after BJP national president Rajnath Singh met him in Delhi in his bid to settle bad blood between him and some party leaders, especially former Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje, Shekhawat started his statewide tour from Jodhpur, where he held a public meeting.
