Planning Commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia today announced the second and maybe the last stimulus package for the economy by the UPA government. The package, which comes along with the cut of reverse repo and CRR by the RBI, is intended to provide adequate credit in the economy that has been showing a considerable slowdown since September, Montek said.

No rotation of CM post: Omar
New Delhi, January 2
There will be no rotation of the chief ministership between coalition partners, the National Conference (NC) and the Congress, in Jammu and Kashmir. Meeting here to finalise the contours of cooperation in the state, NC and Congress leaders agreed for Omar Abdullah as head of the government for the full term of six years.

The Army has gunned down four terrorists in a night-long gun battle that continued for the second day today, while two of its soldiers also lost their lives. On specific information that six heavily-armed terrorists were seen in the Pati Tar area of Poonch, the Army cordoned off the area and asked the militants to surrender.
