Pranab Mukherjee Stepping up the pressure on Pakistan, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday said Islamabad had been provided enough evidence regarding the Mumbai attacks and now the neighbouring nation must deliver results by acting against the terrorists who masterminded the carnage.

Pakistan today asserted that it was prepared to defend itself if any aggression or war was imposed on the country, even as Islamabad said it will be “irresponsible” to speculate on the Mumbai attacks before the results of the probe are out.

US toughens stance, says Mumbai attacks no ordinary event

In a tough message to Pakistan, the US has said it was not satisfied with what Islamabad had done so far for eradicating terrorism from its soil after the Mumbai attack, not an ordinary event that could be “swept under the carpet”.

Heavy fog hits air, rail traffic
New Delhi, December 21
Heavy fog today hit air and train traffic with about 20 flights from IGI airport here being delayed and two cancelled while over 25 Delhi-bound trains running late by varying periods up to even 11 hours.

BJP to push for Antulay’s removal

The BJP will continue to put pressure on the government for the removal of minority affairs minister A.R. Antulay by raising the issue in Parliament tomorrow, party spokesman Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said today.

Mumbai’s Taj and Oberoi Hotels that were hit by terrorists late last month are getting back on their feet. Normal business operations in parts of both hotels were kicked off today on a solemn note with multi-faith prayer meetings headed by religious leaders from Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jain, Parsi and Buddhist denominations.
