As the international community tightened the noose around Islamabad on the issue of terrorism, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown today asserted that Pakistan has “a lot to answer for” the heinous terrorist attack on Mumbai recently.

IAF violated airspace by mistake: Pak
New Delhi/Islamabad, December 14
India today refuted Islamabad’s charge that Indian Air Force (IAF) jets flew into the Pakistani airspace, claiming the neighbouring country was indulging in propaganda after it had been established beyond doubt that elements in Pakistan were behind the Mumbai terror attack.

‘Lashkar responsible for attack’

Visiting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Sunday categorically singled out the Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) as being responsible for last month’s terror attacks in Mumbai that claimed nearly 200 lives and injured about 300.

No move to postpone LS poll: Govt

The Centre is not considering any proposal for advancing the Lok Sabha poll, the external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee said today. He was addressing a public meeting at Behrampore, the district from where he won the 2004 parliamentary elections.

46 farmers commit suicide every day in India: Research
New Delhi, December 14
Forty-six farmers commit suicide every day in this country even as packages were rolled out in a bid to bailout the debt-ridden community from crisis. A whopping 16,632 cases of suicides by farmers, including 2,369 women were reported across the country last year with Maharashtra retaining the dubious distinction of having the largest number of such incidents despite a slump in figures.

High day temperature in Dec may hit wheat yield: Experts

With wheat sown in 34 lakh hectares across the state high day temperature is giving farmers the jitters. At this stage it is the biting cold which promotes tillering of wheat seed which helps raise the wheat yield. Despite having reached mid-December the region is yet to witness trademark shivering cold.
