50% cut in VAT on fuel hike withdrawn

The Punjab government has withdrawn 50 per cent reduction in levy of VAT (Value Added Tax) on the hike in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG. This 50 per cent cut in VAT was imposed in July this year, after the Centre increased the fuel prices.
CM cancels transfers of 840 border cops

Cop on duty run over by panch, dies

A head constable identified as Inderjit Singh, who was posted at the Longowal police station, succumbed to his injuries today at the DMC hospital,
Ludhiana. He, along with two others, was allegedly hit by a person with his vehicle at Kila Bharian village, about 12 km from here, last evening.
