India is weighing all options, including striking at terrorist camps in Pakistan, even as it mounts pressure on Islamabad to act strongly against ‘jehadi’ groups that have been enjoying safe sanctuaries in the neighbouring country and are carrying out attacks on the Indian soil.

With the pressure mounting from all corners, Pakistan today proposed setting up of a joint investigation mechanism with India to probe the lethal terror strikes in Mumbai. “Let there be a joint commission to evaluate the available evidence in order to take the requisite action,” said the foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in a statement to the media here on Tuesday.

Cooperate fast, McCain tells Pak

Senator John McCain, who lost to Barack Obama in the US Presidential race, today expressed solidarity with India in the wake of Mumbai’s terror attacks and asked Pakistan to cooperate with India “as quickly and efficiently as possible”. He emphasised that Washington would not not allow terrorists to provoke a confrontation between India and Pakistan.
