To cover 15 km, Patil uses chopper

New Delhi, October 24
A chopper was used by Union home minister Shivraj Patil to cover a 15-km distance from Safdurjung airport to Khanpur within the city ostensibly to avoid the crowded thoroughfares. Patil took the aerial route to attend the 47th Raising Day Parade of Indo-Tibetan Border Police function held at Tigri in Khanpur in South Delhi. The helicopter — Mi-17 of the BSF, which has been taken on loan from IAF, took off from Safdurjung Airport at 9:00 am and landed in nearby Jamia ground. — PTI
