I cannot call M C Sharma, the Delhi Police's braveheart who died fighting terrorists at Batla house on Friday, a friend but he was certainly an acquaintance. Though his name, when announced on the TV during the shootout, as such didn't ring a bell, his photographs published in various newspapers the next morning brought back some hazy but inconsequential memories of the couple of 'encounters' that I had with him during my days as a crime reporter in Delhi.
