Cash-for-Vote
CNN-IBN to depose before Deo panel

Panaji, August 8
Rajdeep Sardesai, chief executive officer, CNN-IBN TV-channel, which conducted a sting in the ‘cash-for-vote’ episode in Parliament on the trust vote day, said his organisation would depose before the parliamentary committee inquiring into the incident on Monday.

Addressing a meet the press programme organised by the Goa Union of Journalists here today, Sardesai deplored lack of support to his initiative from the very media fraternity, which started attributing motives for the sting operations.

He also regretted that the media fraternity failed to react when politicians attacked cameramen and journalists when his organisation broadcast stories on Jayalalithaa and Bal Thackeray.

However, he asserted that he had every right to withhold or broadcast the episode at his own choice and will. He said it would be broadcast a few days after deposing the evidence. — UNI
