Jawan killed in Pak firing

Srinagar, July 28
An Army personnel was killed when a group of 10-12 Pakistan army personnel fired upon them after crossing over the LoC in Leepa area of Nowgam sector in Kupwara district today.

A defence spokesman said here that the troops retaliated forcing the Pakistan personnel to return. There were no reports about the damage caused to the Pakistani troops after they were forced to return to their positions, the spokesman at the 15 Corps headquarters of the Army said. Confusion prevailed in the area in the wake of the exchange of fire.

The defence PRO said one jawan, Sepoy Mahesh, was killed in the firing.
