Heavy rain in Himachal, J&K likely

Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most of the places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, at many places in east Rajasthan, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are:  
Haryana
: Jind 19, Sirsa (IAF) 11, Narwana 10, Hissar, Julana and Kalayat 9 each, Bilaspur, Jagadhari and Sohana 8 each, Sadhaura 7, Gurgaon, Rania, Sirsa, Uchana 6 each, Ayanagar, Ellanabad, Jhajjar, Loharu, Naraingarh, Nilokheri, and Tohana 5, Dadri, Kharkhoda, New Delhi (Palam), Pataudi, Nuh and Sonepat 4 each and Bhiwani Khera, Chhachrauli, Dabwali, Guhla, Gohana, Jatusana, Jirka, Kaithal, Mustafabad, Panipat, Radaur, New Delhi (Safdarjung) and Thaneswar 3 each. 

Himachal Pradesh: Bharwain 7, Bangana 6, Jogindernagar and Kasauli 5 each, Gohar, Nalagarh and Shimla 4 each and Karsog 3. 

Punjab: Pathankot 15, Patiala 12, Bhatinda 9, Adampur 8, Moga 6, Talwandi Sabo 5, Amritsar, Halwara and Ropar 4 and Barnala, Phillaur and Ludhiana 3 each. 

East Rajasthan: Todabhim 14, Baseri 11, Shahpura 9, Nadaut 8, Baswa and Laxmangarh 6 each, Bani, Chaksu, Karoli and Viratnagar 5 each, Fatehpur, Pilani and Sikrai 4 each and Bamanwas, Gangapur city, Kotputli, Neemkathana and Sikar 3 each, West Rajasthan: Rajgarh 8, Sangaria 6, Bhadra 4 and Tibi 3. 

East Uttar Pradesh: Bhatpurwaghat 8, Ballia F.M. and Chhatnag 6 each, Banda 4 and Birdghat, Ghazipur F.M. Gonda F.M. and Lucknow 3 each. 

West Uttar Pradesh: Moradabad T. 8, Aligarh 7, Moradabad 5, Dabri 4 and Fatehgarh and Narora 3 each and Uttarakhand: Kalagarh 9, Mukteshwar 5, Dehradun 0.4 and Dehra Dun F.M. 3.

Temperature: The maximum temperature fell markedly in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, fell appreciably in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh, fell in Punjab and changed little elsewhere. They were largely below normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and uttarkhand, appreciably below normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 41.5 degree celcius recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 18: Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places in the region outside south Rajasthan where it may be at a few places.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to be at a few place in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu divisions of Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Isolated heavy rain is also likely over Haryana, Kashmir division of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east and northwest Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Rainfall intensity over east Uttar Pradesh is likely to increase whereas it may decrease over the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 18: Generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain/thundershowers. One or two may be heavy.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Rainfall activity likely to continue.
