Aarushi Murder Undergoes third lie-detector test Tribune News Service New Delhi, June 15 The statement from the CBI came after its teams intensified searches at the homes of the Talwars, the compounder Krishna and the friends of the family, the Durranis. After carrying out the narco-analysis test on the compounder Krishna in Bangalore, the CBI conducted a third lie-detector test on Nupur Talwar, and said her statements contradicted those of her arrested husband Rajesh Talwar. The CBI officials did not rule out the possibility of arresting Nupur Talwar also on the basis of her statements. According to reports, the CBI has conducted three lie-detector tests on Nupur Talwar since Friday and has found her statements not matching with the previous accounts or those with that of her husband. A CBI official here, while confirming the development, said, "We have conducted three lie-detector tests on Nupur Talwar since Friday. Two tests were conducted at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), including one today, and one at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL)Delhi." The statement from the CBI official came even as the investigating agency Rajesh Talwar was arrested earlier by the Noida police for his alleged involvement in the May 15 night double murders of his daughter and the domestic help Hemraj. During the test, a polygraph instrument collects physiological data, including Yesterday, Rajesh Talwar's compounder Krishna was remanded to CBI custody for three days. He was arrested on Friday evening after a series of scientific tests. The sleuths had also recovered some clothes and a “khukhri” (rounded knife) from Krishna’s residence following a tip-off and searches carried out thereafter. According to reports emerging from the investigations, the CBI might also put through a lie-detector test an industrialist friend of the Talwars and the Durranis who had lent his car to the former when they went to Haridwar to cremate Aarushi. Aarushi, 14, was found killed in her Noida home on May 16 morning. While the police initially named missing domestic help Hemraj as the main suspect, they found his body on the terrace of the house the next day. Rajesh Talwar was arrested May 23 as the prime suspect. Reports suggested that the CBI intensified its searches in and around the Talwars’ residence in Jalyayu Vihar in an effort to recover the missing pieces in the chain of the murders. The investigating agency is still to lay its hands on the murder weapon and also the mobile phones of both Aarushi and Hemraj. Sources said a CBI team had visited the locked house of the Talwars in the morning. The CBI also visited the sector-53 residence of Anita Durrani, who ran a clinic in association with Rajesh Talwar. The team has also detained Durranis’ domestic help Raj Kumar, who was said to be close to Hemraj. The investigating agency had on Friday and Saturday also interrogated Anita Durrani and her husband. CBI sources said more arrests were likely in the sensational case. |
