Sensex up 414

Mumbai, April 7
The markets surged today with the Sensex gaining 2.7 per cent or 414 points to close at 15, 757 levels on the back of positive showing globally.

In the broader markets, Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also shot up by 114.20 points or 2.46 per cent to close at 4,761.20 from its last close of 4,647. Among the major gainers included oil and gas, banking, metal and healthcare scrips.

The rally was led by ICICI Bank, which gained 6 per cent to close at Rs 809. Ranbaxy, Jaiprakash Associates, HUL and ITC were some of the other gainers.
