Ossification test to be conducted on Brit teen’s body

Panaji, March 10
The Goa police have ordered an ossification test to be conducted on the body of the 15-year-old British girl, who was found dead under mysterious circumstance on a popular beach in the state.

“We will conduct an ossification test on her body to ascertain her age although her passport registers her age as 15 years,” inspector general of police Kishan Kumar said. Scarlett Eden Keeling’s bruised body was found lying on Anjuna beach on February 18 in semi-nude condition.

“The ossification test would confirm her exact age which is crucial to establish a rape case against D’souza,” Kumar said. The police have registered a rape case against D'souza as Scarlett was a minor.

Police sources confirmed that the department, which is in the line of fire for the way it has handled the case, was taking no chances. — PTI
