Talking about the increasing deaths due to NCDs, Dr Ranbir said, “We have witnessed an increase in the number of deaths due to diseases like diabetes, hypertension, depression, strokes and cardiovascular problems. With this project we hope to promote healthy lifestyle and strengthen public health management.” Under this project the patients would be referred to block and district-level NCD clinics. However, the complicated cases would be referred to Government Medical College, Amritsar, and the PGI, Chandigarh. |
