Minister and chairperson of the Pakistan People’s
Party (PPP) Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on Thursday
by a suicide gunner who later blew himself up with a
powerful bomb blast that killed at least 20 other
persons at Liaquat Gardens in Rawalpindi after she

Bhutto’s
life journey Benazir Bhutto was born
on June 21, 1953, into a wealthy landowning family. Her father,
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founded the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and
was President and later Prime Minister of Pakistan from 1971 to
1977.
