Gt.Noida without power, water Greater Noida, November 24 Many entrepreneurs have decided to appeal to the Chief Minister, Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav, to help them out, else they would be forced to close down their units. The residents and industrialists of Greater Noida are facing this situation because of a dispute between Noida Power Company Ltd (NPCL) and UP Power Corporation (UPPC). However, there is no sign of NPCL and UPPC resolving their disputes. NPCL owes UPPC Rs 18 crore and UPPC had stopped 10 Mega Watt additional power supply to Greater Noida from Monday, plunging the area in darkness. The residential sectors are now being deprived of power during nights also. The rural areas are worse hit. Equally appalling is the scenario of water supply. People have asked the authorities to run tubewells with the help of generators to provide them with drinking water. Even residents like Pankaj Banerjee of Alpha-II, say, “We had not bought costly land in Greater Noida to face lack of power and water for 24 hours. Greater Noida has smashed all over dreams. Living here is worse than living in villages.” |

Officials said the civic body also took action against unauthorised construction, demolishing six properties in the posh Vasant Kunj area of South Delhi and three in Najafgarh of West Delhi. Meanwhile, the BJP said the government should take immediate steps to provide traders an “honourable” solution by coming out with an Amnsety Plan. The party’s Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha, Mr V. K. Malhotra and Delhi president, Mr Harsh Vardhan, said the Supreme Court had given the government time till next January to formulate a plan for permanent relief for traders. “Entire Delhi is fed up with daily sealing and demolitions. HC
asks Delhi, UP to resolve bus row
New Delhi, November 24 As an immediate measure towards the resolution of the stand-off, the court allowed entry of CNG buses of UP Roadways into the Capital for re-filling and asked the UP government to release 122 DTC buses impounded by it. “Don’t take it as a litigation, let us resolve it,” the court said. “It is strange that the instrumentalities of the departments of transport of UP and NCT have reached such a flashpoint that commuter’s interests are given a go by. State has to work for the citizens and not put hurdles in their way. Personal egos should not obstruct justice,” the court added. The interim order was given on a petition filed by Uttar Pradesh State Roadways Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) seeking directions to the Delhi Government to “immediately” allow its fleet to enter the Capital for the purpose of re-filling. Posting the case for hearing on December one, the bench said that notices would be issued to the Chief Secretaries of both states in public interest if they were not able to resolve the stand-off at the earliest. The UP Transport Secretary, Delhi Transport Commissioner and DTC Chairman were today present in the court. The court has permitted UP Roadways CNG fitted buses re-fill at stations situated on Delhi borders. The writ petition filed by the UP State Roadways Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) had claimed that a large number of its CNG-fitted buses were lying idle due to lack of CNG gas as Delhi authorities were not permitting it to enter the Capital for re-filling. It said that the lack of proper inter-state public transport was causing hardships to the public, including school children and those especially from Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida regions. |

The Commission sought to know as to why Rs 25,000 as penalty should not be imposed on him for failure to provide information within the prescribed time period. The order came on an appeal filed by one Seema Bhattacharya, a resident of Dilshad Colony, before it after she was denied the information by the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the MCD.
