Molestation case: NHRC seeks report from Punjab DGP

New Delhi, October 19
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked the Director General of Police, Punjab, to submit within two weeks a report on the alleged police brutality on unarmed students in Ludhiana last month.

The commission has ordered that a copy of the complaint along with enclosures be sent to DGP, Punjab.

In their complaint to the Commission, Paramjit Kaur Gulshan, a Member of Parliament and others have alleged that policemen molested and assaulted 20 women enrolled in the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.
