The CBI arrested SP Ravi Azad and DSP Udey Shanker here yesterday in connection with a cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy case for their role in the recruitment of 500 constables in the Government Railways Police and the Haryana Armed Police in 2003-04.

Fifty-five-year-old Mohammad Ali of Charthawal village in Muzaffarnagar was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 for raping his daughter-in-law, a mother of five, in the much-talked about rape case last year.
