Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures changed little.

Departure: This was appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 39.1°C recorded at Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures changed little.

Departure: This was appreciably above normal in Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 15.4°C recorded at Chandigarh.

Forecast valid until the morning of October 20: Isolated rain/snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely in Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours and at a few places during the subsequent
24 hours. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
