War room leak: CBI attaches Shankaran’s property
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, September 19
The CBI today attached property and bank accounts of Ravi Shankaran, one of the prime accused in the naval war room leak case and a kin of Navy chief Arun Prakash, for his failure to appear before it for questioning.

The CBI’s move to attach the property in Salcett, South Goa, by the name of Shanx Oceaneering Pvt Ltd and his Mercedes in Pune came after a designated court here had yesterday issued a warrant of attachment.

The Court has also declared him an absconder.

Shankaran’s 1,100 sq m industrial plot with staff quarter and residence, located at S-58, Varna Industrial Estate, Phase II-B, Salcette, South Goa, was attached in the presence of the District Collector, a CBI spokesperson said here.

The CBI also seized a Mercedes car (MH-04-CD 9010) from 5/15, Rukmani Bhavan, Shanker Seth Road, Pune. Bank accounts held in the HSBC branch in Mumbai of M/s Besix India, a proprietary firm belonging to Shankaran, had also been frozen.

The CBI will be the custodian of the attached properties now. The court had issued attachment warrant only for these properties of Shankaran, against whom an Interpol Red Corner notice was issued last month, as other properties or assets were in joint names.
