The Judicial Magistrate, Mr Ranjan Khullar, issued summons to property dealer Vijay Kumar of Ahluwalia Colony, Satnam Singh and his wife Narinder Kaur of Bank Colony to face trial on the charge of cheating a person of Rs 4,25,000.

6 booked for assault

The police has booked Jasvir Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Surjit Singh, Balwinder Singh, Chamkaur Singh and Chhota Singh of Bhaini Baringan on the charge of assaulting Inderjit Singh of the same village with sticks.

The Sidhwan Bet police has booked 12 persons on the charge of assault in two incidents. In the first incident, the police has booked Iqbal Singh, Gulzar Singh, Harjinder Singh and Gurdeep Singh of Sawadi Kalan for allegedly assaulting Palwinder Singh of their village with swords and sticks.

City to host games for people with transplanted organs

They haven’t hit the court or track yet and already this group of athletes has performed death-defying feats. They all carry an inner trophy — a new organ that qualifies them for the dream team in the game of life. Their ultimate trial will kick off at Guru Nanak Stadium here, the site selected for the 2006 Transplant Games, when the city will play host to 9th All India Transplant Games and SAARC Transplant Olympics being organised jointly by the All India Transplant Games Federation, the Society for Constructive Education and Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

They won the final 2-1.

Hockey tourney from today

The stage is set for the Miri Piri Punjab State Sub Junior and the Punjab State Junior Hockey Championship which begins at the Satguru Partap Singh astro turf stadium at Bhaini Sahib, near here on Sunday. The Ludhiana District Hockey Association, under the aegis of the Punjab Hockey Association with the help of Namdhari Seeds is organizing these tournaments.
