Motorists, school bus drivers challaned

Waking up to the need for making journey to schools safe for students, the Chandigarh police carried out an early morning special drive and challaned 335 motorists, including 161 school bus drivers and conductors for not complying with the traffic rules and regulations.

Cotton bales destroyed in fire

A major fire gutted the godown of the Winsome Yarns on the Dera Bassi-Barwala road late last night.
Hundreds of cotton bales stored in the godown were destroyed in the fire, which
broke out around 11.30 p.m.
