Mumbai, July 17
President A P J Abdul Kalam will lead a condolence meeting to mourn the death of those killed in Mumbai’s serial bomb blasts tomorrow. A two-minute silence will be observed from 6.25 pm as a mark of respect to the victims, according to the Maharashtra Government.
According to the Protocol Department, the city will come to a halt at 6.24 pm when the first siren will be sounded off. There will be another siren at 6.27 pm to end the silence, he said.
The statement by the Maharashtra Government said this was the first time that the siren would be sounded to notify public mourning. Usually, two-minutes’ silence is observed only on January 30 to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
