Mumbai, July 15
With intelligence reports indicating that the bombers involved in last Tuesday's serial blasts on board Mumbai's commuter trains may have received substantial local support, the police began a swoop on suspected Bangladeshi migrants into the city.

Police believe that Syed Zabiuddin alias Zaby, who has been wanted ever since RDX and other explosives were found in Maharashtra earlier this year, is a Bangladeshi national who may have recruited several members of the community into the Lashkar-e-Toiba. At least one eyewitness has claimed to have seen Zabiuddin at a station minutes before a blast.

More than 300 persons from the slums of Mahim in North Central Mumbai have been picked up.
