New Delhi, July 15
India today formally conveyed to Pakistan the postponement of Foreign
Secretary-level talks between the two countries which were tentatively
scheduled to take place here on July 21.
In a terse message conveyed through diplomatic channels, India said
that fresh dates would have to be worked out later.
The Indian stand comes on the eve of Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh’s visit to St Petersburg and gives a tough message that New
Delhi would not take terror incidents like Mumbai and Srinagar on July
11 lightly.
The July 21 Foreign Secretary-level meeting here was scheduled to
undertake a day-long review of the third round of composite dialogue
and also set the agenda for Foreign Minister-level meeting.
