Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Kandaghat 5 and Solan 2 and Uttaranchal: Tehri 2.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, fell in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: This was below normal in west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41.8°C recorded at Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 17, 2006: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Isolated dust-storm/thunderstorm is likely in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Partly cloudy sky with possibility of Thundry development/light rain accompanied with squall in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 41°C.
