RSS to celebrate Madhav Gowalkar’s birth centenary

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is planning to hold the birth anniversary celebrations of Madhav Sadashiv Gowalkar, also known as Guruji. A number of functions have been planned all over the state to mark the centenary.
Resentment over land allotment to Rotary Club

The residents of Rajguru Nagar, Rajguru Nagar Extension, New Rajguru Nagar, Lal Bagh, Aman Park, Jagjit Nagar and Threeke have resented the allotment of 2,000 sq yards of prime land to the Rotary Club-North at a very low lease rate for the construction of a senior citizens home.
Anti-terrorism day observed

A district-level function was organised in Bachat Bhavan here today to observe anti-terrorism day.
Mr Ajmer Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, presided over the function and administered the oath to the participants to denounce terrorism and work for strengthening of the unity and integrity of the country.

A retired soldier of the Army was in for a shock when he purchased four bottles of “PALS” beer from 3805 NCC Group Headquarters canteen here. Shamsher Singh, a resident of Phullanwal village in this district, found extraneous matter in three bottles.
