Ludhiana, May 14
Senior Congress leader, Jagmeet Singh Brar is said to have been summoned by the party high command to Delhi to explain his outburst against Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in respect of providing land to Reliance Industries.

Mr Brar had alleged motives behind the deal with the Reliance. He even went to the extent of asking the Chief Minister to give the Reliance his Moti Bagh palace. Allegations came at a time when the party has started preparing for elections in the state.

Mr Brar has been asked not to go public about his criticism of the government, particularly the Chief Minister. He has also been summoned to Delhi by the party high command, which has also sought a report from Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Shamsher Singh Dullo.

Mr Brar is believed to be enjoying patronage of two senior party leaders close to Ms Sonia Gandhi. However, the way he has levelled serious allegations of corruption against the Chief Minister has not been liked by the high command.

Mr Brar, is a permanent invitee to the Congress Working Committee and his allegations against the government of his own party are embarrassing for the Chief Minister.

Besides the issue of Mr Brar, the party high command is likely to discuss overall scenario in the state. A high-level meeting is scheduled to be held in New Delhi next week which would be attended among others by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, PCC president Dullo and the party’s in charge for Punjab Janardhan Dwivedi. Even after five months of his being appointed the in charge of Punjab, Mr Dwivedi is yet to visit the state.
