Gang of robbers busted, 7 held

Seven members of the ‘Kala Kachch- hewala’ gang have been arrested and at least 15 others detained for ques- tioning and verifi- cation of their involvement in incidents of robbery, snatching and dacoity in 11 districts of the state for the past 10 years. Wheat arrivals continue despite boycott call

The joint call for the boycott of mandis given by various factions of the Bharatiya Kisan Union and supported by the Shiromani Akali Dal-Badal evoked a mixed response today as the wheat arrivals continued in most of the mandis, although at lower pace, on the second day of the boycott today.

“Osteoporosis or weak bones is a major health problem. It contributes to 1.5 million fractures every year. Half of all women above 50 years, sustain an osteoporosis-related fracture sometime in their life,” said Dr Harpreet S. Gill, orthopaedic consultant at SPS Apollo Hospital here while interacting with patients at a one-day camp to detect bone density.

DMCH docs perform complex surgery

250 patients examined at camp
Ludhiana, April 18
At least 250 patients were examined at a free medical check-up camp organised by the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in collaboration with the Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Charitable Trust at Sarabha village in this district today. Free ECG and blood sugar tests were conducted and patients given follow-up advice.
