The chief amounts of precipitation in cms. are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhuntar and Sundernagar 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal, Batote and Bhaderwah 2 each and Katra and Quazigund 1 each and West Rajasthan: Sriganganagar 2.

Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, fell in Haryana and east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

They were markedly above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.3°C recorded at Sultanpur and Varanasi AP (Uttar Pradesh).
