Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at many places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana and west Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms. are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhuntar and Sundernagar 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal, Batote and Bhaderwah 2 each and Katra and Quazigund 1 each and West Rajasthan: Sriganganagar 2.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, fell in Haryana and east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.3°C recorded at Sultanpur and Varanasi AP (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 28: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 28: Partly cloudy sky with dust haze. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32C and 18C respectively.
