Rainfall: Rain, snow has occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Rain, thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal 8, Batote 5, Srinagar 4, Quazigund 3 and Katra 2.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, rose in Haryana and east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were largely above normal in east Rajasthan, markedly above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and above normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 9.5°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 28: Rain, snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain, thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in west Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 28: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thundershowers in some areas. Mist, fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 16°C.
