New Delhi, February 12
The President and the Prime Minister have greeted the nation on the birth
anniversary of Guru Ravidas.
In a message, President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has called upon all citizens to rededicate themselves to the teachings of Guru Ravidas and come forward for the cause of the poor and the needy.
Dr Kalam said Guru Ravidas was a religious and social reformer and an embodiment of spiritual wisdom.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the teachings of Guru Ravidas on humanism, equality and justice had great relevance and would continue to guide mankind towards securing a just and equitable society.
