Srinagar, January 15
Jammu and Kashmir police has registered a case against security forces for allegedly torturing to death one person and critically injuring another in North Kashmir today.
Official sources said security forces arrested Abdul Majid Parray and Farooq Ahmad Bhat at Inderkote sumbal last night for their alleged links with militants.
Sources said Parray and Bhat were handed over to the police at Sopore in a critical condition by the security forces. Both of them were admitted to hospital where Parray died while the condition of Bhat is still critical.
People of Inderkote took to streets and demanded action against the security forces who allegedly tortured Parray and Bhat.
However, situation was brought under control after a case was registered against the security forces and the demonstrators were assured that action would be taken against the guilty.
The killing of Parray allegedly by the security forces came a few days after a similar case was registered against the Army on the directions of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for the killing of Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai.
