US experts visit Tarapore station
Mumbai, January 13 The meeting in the form of a workshop was held between January 9 and 12. The on-going cooperation in various areas, including high energy nuclear physics and regulatory agencies of the two countries, was endorsed by the workshop, a DAE spokesperson, Dr S.K. Malhotra, said The 18-member US delegation was led by Acting Director of the office of Nuclear Energy Science and Technology, US Department of Energy, R. Shane Johnson. The 12-member Indian delegation was led by Dr R.B. Grover, Director, Strategic Planning Group, DAE. The Indo-US group also visited the
Tarapore Atomic Power Station units 3 and 4 of 500MW each and “this was an exercise undertaken by the DAE to show India’s latest indigenous capability,” Mr Malhotra said.
