Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose in Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: This was appreciably below normal in Haryana, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.6°C recorded at Churu and Pilani (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of December 18, 2005: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
