Panda agrees to pay maintenance

Allahabad, December 16
Controversial senior IPS officer D.K. Panda, in the news for dedicating himself as ‘Radha’ to Lord Krishna, today said he was willing to pay Rs 7,000 per month to his estranged wife and would withdraw a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the same.

Panda made the announcement after NCW Chairperson Girja Vyas met him and his wife Veena separately here.

Addressing a crowded press conference along with his estranged wife and Vyas, Panda, who had arrived in his now famous Radha get-up at the circuit house following a notice from the Commission, said he would also give a sum of Rs 15 lakh to his wife for buying a house.

Vyas, who first met the husband and the wife separately and then together, said, “We have clearly made a headway, though we have a long way to go as further rounds of talks need to be held and also, the matter is currently sub-judice”. — PTI
