Pre-poll outbursts well thought-out: Shatrughan

New Delhi, December 11
Sulking BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha today said he was “ready to pay the price for his well-thought-out” outbursts against the party’s alleged endorsement of criminalisation of politics before the Bihar Assembly polls.

“I am not a fool to have not sensed public mood in Bihar. I could foresee a change of government. But whatever I said about political criminalisation before the Bihar elections was a planned, well thought-out move,” Mr Sinha said in his speech at an event organised by M.S. Bitta’s All-India Anti-Terrorist Front to mark the fourth anniversary of the Parliament attack here.

Mr Sinha, who had dropped his Bihar campaign plans to oppose what he claimed was the BJP’s endorsement of criminalisation of politics, said he still staunchly stood by his stand despite the JD(U)-BJP alliance sweeping the state elections without his participation in canvassing.

“And I am ready to pay the price. Those who see my bowing out of the Bihar election campaign as a miscalculation are dimwits,” he remarked. — PTI
