Bribery charge against surgeon
CDs of patients released

Barely had the dust settled over the corruption charges levelled against a surgeon and an anaesthetist at General Hospital, Sector 6, last week, that video CDs of patients claiming to have paid bribe to the surgeon, Dr Vivek Bhadoo, were released today.

Two held for murder of unidentified man

The Chandigarh police today claimed to have solved the case of murder of a man whose unidentified body was found last Sunday in the jungle near Maloya village.

UT ‘refuses’ to hand over Hawara to Punjab

Efforts of the Punjab Police to secure the remand of dreaded terrorist Jagtar Singh Hawara have come to nought. The Chandigarh Administration has refused to revoke a notification which bars the movement of Hawara from the high security Burail jail here.

Ground water not being tapped
Chandigarh, December 11
Ground water in the city from the shallow semi-confined aquifer is not being tapped which is causing serious problems of water logging in the south western part of the city.

Abdul Kalam, in Chandigarh on Saturday.  They extended an invitation to the President to be chief guest at the proposed World Religion Conference scheduled to be held in the city by the society next year.
