Gujarat CLP chief on fast

Gandhinagar, November 20
The Gujarat Leader of the Congress Legislature Party, Mr Arjun Modvadia, has gone on a fast demanding the arrest of a former minister and BJP leader, Mr Babubhai Bokharia, in connection with the murder of his aide and businessman, Molubhai Modvadia.

The businessman was gunned down on November 15. Arjun Modvadia has alleged that the deceased had earlier written a letter addressed to the District Superintendent of Police. He had claimed that in the event of his death no one but the BJP leader should be held responsible.

Molubhai’s son, Bharat, has also alleged that his father was killed on instructions from the former minister. Molubhai was killed when he was returning from a dinner at BJP legislator Karsan Odedra’s house.

Bokharia has denied the charge. The police has registered the case, but has failed to gather evidence linking the former minister to the murder.

The letter was found in Molubhais wallet. It has been sent to handwriting and fingerprint experts.
