Two students of SD College killed in accident

Two youths were killed and four injured seriously when the car they were travelling in was crushed by a Maxx Pik-Up and a truck on the Panchkula-Zirakpur highway at around 2 am today. UT begins work on conservation plan
Chandigarh, November 19
The Chandigarh Administration has initiated work on the conservation of the city’s architecture. The name of the city has been sent to the Cultural Affairs Ministry for inclusion in the list of cities from India as World Heritage projects of UNESCO.

BSF, Rangers to check crime
Chandigarh, November 19
The Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers today resolved to share intelligence and enhance coordination and joint patrolling along the International Border to check trans-border smuggling and crime.

The local chapter of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organised a Lord Jagannath rath yatra in Chandigarh and Panchkula with enthusiasm and devotion in which thousands of ISKCON devotees from India and abroad participated.

CFSL scientist gets award

Dr Sanjeev, a scientist at the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory (CFSL), Sector 36, has been awarded the prestigious Union Home Minister’s Award for Forensic Sciences for his contribution in the field of `Forensic Biological Science’.

NAC at Nayagaon soon, assures Kang

Two women and three girls were allegedly picked up illegally from Sohana by personnel suspected to be from the Ropar district police early this morning.

Man dies in accident
Panchkula, November 19
A 27-year-old man was killed and his daughter was injured when their scooter (HR-03C-0365) was hit by a truck near Ramgarh today. The man, Shiv Kumar, was coming back with his four-year-old daughter, after having dropped his wife and son at Ramgarh.

It was a unique day at DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, today, as parents of students and staff members got together for donating blood. As many as 50 units of blood were collected in this camp.

UT to host two tennis meets

Tennis has become synonymous with Chandigarh, thanks to the world class stadium at Sector 10 which has become a tennis hub in the region. The next two months will witness two international tennis tournaments in Chandigarh, — the ITF Men’s Future $ 10,000 Tennis Tournament from December 5 to 9 and ITF Juniors (Grade-3) Tennis Tournament from January 2 to 6. This was stated here today by Mr Rajan Kashyap, Chairman, Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association.

MCM DAV Club eves in football semis
