Students apprised of rights
: The CJM-cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Mr Najar Singh, apprised students of their rights at a function organised at DAV Senior Secondary School here on Tuesday. He also inaugurated “Balpan bachao abhiyan”.

Robbers held: The police claimed to have nabbed two robbers wanted in several cases of looting and were active on highway here. The robbers — Paramjit Singh of Tharhi village and Vikram of Urlana Kalan village — were nabbed from the Meerut road here on Sunday.

Farmer killed
: Krishan Paul, a farmer of Baghpat, was killed and his friend, Gulbir, injured when they were hit by a motor cycle on the GT Road, near Kundli village along the Haryana-Delhi border, about 25 km from here on Monday night. The police has registered a case against the motor cyclist. 

Body found: The police recovered the bullet-hit decomposed body of an unidentified man from a car which was found abandoned in the residential area near Shambhu Dayal Modern School here on Tuesday. According to a report, the body bore some bullet injuries and the police believes it to be a case of murder. The car is reported to be belonged to a hotelier of Delhi.

3 looted: Six motor cycle-borne armed youths are reported to have looted Rs 5,000 from three persons on Drain No. 8 near Jasrana village, about 50 km from here, on Monday night. According to a report, the Gohana police has registered a case and launched a hunt to apprehend the suspects. The victims belonged to Dojana village in Jhajjar district.

Yamunanagar
Urged
: The Saraswati Nadi Shodh Sansthan, engaged in the exploration and promotion of the Saraswati River Project, has written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding steps to prevent the pollution of the river creek in Yamunanagar and Kurukshetra districts. The sansthan has also complained that several pockets downstream Rullaheri have been encroached upon and urged the minister to intervene.
