Buta Singh vacates house

New Delhi, November 15
Attacked by the Supreme Court for “unauthorised” occupation of government accommodation, Bihar Governor Buta Singh has vacated his residence in Lodhi Estate in the Capital. The process of vacating the house was completed yesterday and the premises had been handed over to the authorities, sources said.

However, some things were being moved out even today. Using strong language, the Supreme Court had asked the government on October 24 to take remedial measures like “throwing out” the Bihar Governor. “Buta Singh is Governor of Bihar. What is he doing here. How can he be occupying a house here. The Governor cannot have a House here. Throw him out,” a Bench comprising Mr Justice B N Agarwal and Mr Justice A K Mathur had observed. — PTI
