Alwar, November 4
Hundreds of followers of Jainism were emotionally touched during the preaching session of Jain muni Gyanchand, when a Mumbai-based diamond baron announced his decision to take renunciation here on Wednesday.

The multi-millionaire businessman, Mr Uttam Chand Kheevamsara, said he had enough of material prosperity and worldly pleasures and had therefore decided to get initiated as a monk and take ‘diksha’ at a formal function to be held on April 30 next year.

Mr Kheevamsara, who hails from Beawer in Ajmer district of Rajasthan, handed over a letter to muni Gyanchand conveying the collective consent of his family members to his decision on ‘sanyas’.
